They closed the gates last night on this year's run of the Ohio State Fair. Reserve champion barrow sold for $32,000. An 18-year-old was killed on opening day. Excessive corrosion on inside of major support beam caused the failure, throwing the young man to his death.

Sonny Perdue continues his travels through the heartland. He's due at Indiana State Fair tomorrow. The 70-year-old from Georgia has no shortage of energy. He knows agriculture. He's the first agriculture secretary in 30 years who can tell you what the grain prices are.
