Comment period open on California Department of Food and Agriculture draft environmental impact report related to statewide pest prevention and management program.

CDFA to hold statewide meetings on draft EIR

All meetings open to the public.    

 

The California Department of Food and Agriculture released the draft Statewide Plant Pest Prevention and Management Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

The release of the draft Program EIR triggers a 45-day period for public review and comment. Along with that will be a series of public meetings to accept testimony on the proposal.

The draft Program EIR document provides a comprehensive, transparent overview of management programs to protect California’s food system through the principles of integrated pest management, while also protecting public health and the environment.

The purpose of public circulation and the public meetings is to provide agencies and interested individuals with opportunities to comment on or express concerns regarding the contents of the PEIR. The dates, times and locations of the meetings are as follows:
