Irrigation efficiency, financial options help weather drought

Certainties for life in California's Central Valley include death, taxes, and drought, says Sacramento environmental attorney Amanda MacGregor Pearson. No certainty that forecasts of an El Niño will bring a wet winter. Pearson urges growers to aim toward  even more efficient irrigation.

Wine and raisin grape growers gathered in Fresno, Calif. on a searing afternoon for a plunge into water law and pointers on what they might do to alleviate the effects of this year’s drought – as well as the fallout from future dry spells.

Sacramento environmental attorney Amanda MacGregor Pearson expanded on those things in life that are certain – death and taxes – and added drought to the list for those in the Central Valley who are at ground zero for the weather challenge.
