California raisin prices hit record in 2012.

Raisin prices in 2012 reached a record level in California, according to the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

Raisin purchases from producers, for whom pricing was finalized, reached 220,602 tons at an average price of $1,864 per ton, according to the CDFA.

Purchases from producers for whom pricing was not finalized in 2012 totaled more than 92,000 tons at an average “good faith” price of $1,852 per ton.
