The AgVentures! Learning Center and Museum, located at the International Agri-Center in Tulare, Calif., has received a $2,500 donation from America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund and directed by local farmer Jerry Silva.
The donation will help the organization update and add exhibits, plus increase traffic and exposure to the community and surrounding areas to increase knowledge about agriculture methods, products, and careers.
“AgVentures! Learning Center and Museum maintains a vital role in educating our community, specifically children, about agriculture,” said Silva, a Tulare County farmer and International Agri-Center volunteer.
Silva adds, "AgVentures! provides a positive message about those that work hard to feed and clothe the world. With my involvement at the International Agri-Center, directing the grant to AgVentures! was a natural fit.”
For six years, America's Farmers Grow Communities has collaborated with farmers to donate over $22 million to more than 8,000 community organizations across rural America.
Winning farmers will direct donations to nonprofits to help fight rural hunger, buy lifesaving fire and EMS equipment, support agricultural youth leadership programs, purchase resources, and more.
