BASF and Penton-Western Farm Press have launched a new, free continuing education unit (CEU) course on mite control in several specialty crops.
The CEU course - “Mite Control and Integrated Pest Management: Treenut, Pome, Grape, and Strawberry Crops” – is now available online at www.pentonag.com/miticide.
“The CEU courses provided by Farm Press and BASF are an important way to keep pest control advisers updated on the latest technologies in agriculture,” said Steve Broscious, BASF’s technical market manager.
He added, “We’re thrilled to partner with Farm Press to offer this course on mite control, and to provide a new product, Nealta miticide, to help control spider mites on their acres.”
The new course brings to 18 the number of CEU courses currently available on the PentonAg website. Sixteen of the courses are free and two cost $50 each.
The Penton-Western Farm Press CEU program was launched in 2004 by WFP Editor Harry Cline. To date, more than 80,000 people have taken and passed the online courses to gain CEU hours.
The courses are accredited nationwide by the American Society of Agronomy for certified crop advisers; and for licensed agricultural professionals, including California pest control advisers, qualified applicators, private applicators, county permit holders and aerial applicators.
The courses are accredited in more than 20 states.
