California farmland values a record $7,300/acre average

2013 California average farm real estate value is  estimated at a record $7,300 per acre, NASS says. This amount is $100 above the previous record set last year. Irrigated cropland at $12,500 per acre increased $500 per acre from last year.

The 2013 California average farm real estate is valued at an all-time record $7,300 per acre, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in Sacramento.

This amount is $100 above the previous record set in 2012. Annual California farm real estate values have continually increased since 1994.

Irrigated cropland at $12,500 per acre increased $500 per acre compared with last year’s estimated
