To become a market leader in the field of avocado nutrition research, the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is establishing the Avocado Nutrition Center.
A cornerstone of the center will be to develop a comprehensive nutrition research plan.
The research will take place over several years and provide a strong science-based foundation for nutrition marketing communication efforts. The research team will seek information about nutrition benefits of avocados as they relate to heart health, weight management, healthy living, and diabetes.
Research will be conducted to develop credible advances in avocado nutrition science and to discover the role of avocados in human health and nutrition on behalf of all Hass Avocado marketers.
From the research, HAB will create key messages that can be leveraged in all association marketing efforts to encourage Hass Avocado consumption.
The research team will collaborate with leading nutrition investigators and third-party organizations on this scientific research. The research findings are intended to be shared in peer-reviewed publications, in presentations at scientific meetings, during discussions with key experts, and online at www.avocadocentral.com.
A fact sheet on the Avocado Nutrition Center, plus a resource library of scientific references and HAB presentations at scientific meetings, is currently under review by USDA. Upon final approval, the information will be posted in the Avocado Nutrition Center section of www.avocadocentral.com.
