Prices for coastal vegetables hold

Prices for many leafy greens remained relatively good in relation to seasons past. Romaine prices had dropped from a high of $20 in late August to about $10, but by the second week of September were on a steady rise again to settle at about $14 to $16 for 24-count cartons amid moderate trading. Iceberg prices also inched up among active trading to $14 to $16 a carton. Cauliflower prices rose slightly to around $9 a carton f.o.b., while broccoli prices also increased to $9 to $11 a carton f.o.b.
