The National Alfalfa and Forage Alliance (NAFA) has released its 2014 edition of the “Alfalfa Variety Ratings - Winter Survival, Fall Dormancy & Pest Resistant Ratings for Alfalfa Varieties.”
The NAFA publication provides a list of winter survival, fall dormancy, and pest resistance ratings of alfalfa varieties eligible for certification by seed certifying agencies.
The publication includes information on ratings for dormancy, winter survival, standability, bacterial wilt, aphanomyces, leafhopper and other pests, grazing tolerance, salt tolerance, and standability to help growers make more informed decisions about the varieties which perform best in a given environment.
The edition features 213 alfalfa varieties from 23 marketers. It has been verified by the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies and the National Alfalfa Variety Review Board.
All varieties listed can be purchased in the U.S.
