Durum wheat grower Karl Button reports higher yields but lower protein content in his 2009-2010 crop at the Button-Bohnee Farming Partnership farm in Sacaton, Ariz. Button’s 1,100 acre wheat crop yields averaged higher than normal at 3.84 tons per acre. The protein level was 13.3 percent, down about one-half percent from Button’s goal.
