University of California kicks off Ag innovation program

As part of an initiative to promote agriculture technology, the University of California recently announced it will launch The Verde Innovation Network for Entrepreneurship (The VINE).

Led by Gabriel Youtsey, chief innovation officer for the University of California’s Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR), The Vine aims to bring together resources such as small business development centers, community colleges, county cooperative extension offices, labs, incubators and accelerators.

The VINE seeks to connect innovators with legal and financial advice, access to people who can help with business plans and opportunities to partner with the university on joint research projects.
