Brittan fills Yolo Extension post

University of California Cooperative Extension's Kent Brittan has moved to the Yolo County UCCE office, filling a position vacated following the retirement of farm advisor Tom Kearney.

Brittan served as the field and vegetable crops farm advisor in Sacramento County UC Extension from 1996 to 2001. In his new capacity, he maintains responsibility for field crops in Sacramento County and adds field and oilseed crop in Yolo and Solano counties.

Throughout the transition Brittan is maintaining research projects comparing wheat and corn varieties, projects that he began in collaboration with his predecessor. In addition, Brittan is working with farm advisors from neighboring counties on new, environmentally safe methods for controlling worms that feed on tomatoes.

Brittan can be reached at (530) 666-8143, [email protected].
