Fertilizer group slates golf tourney

The California Fertilizer Foundation (CFF) will hold its fourth annual golf tournament on Monday, June 23, 2003 at Elkhorn Country Club in Stockton. All proceeds will benefit the California Fertilizer Foundation and its programs, including the School Garden grant program.

“The California Fertilizer Foundation and its school garden grant program enable California's school children to experience first hand how important agriculture is to our daily lives,” said CFF golf tournament chairman Tim McGahey. “This tournament allows this important program to grow and reach more and more children in California.”

The tournament will begin with a barbecue lunch at 11:30 a.m., a 1 p.m. shotgun start and conclude with a banquet and raffle. Awards will be given for the top three places, as well as a putting contest and “hole-in-one.”

For information on participating in the tournament, making a donation to the Foundation or providing prizes for the tournament or raffle, please contact Sara Miller, director of programs, at 916-446-3316.
