Kearney REC hosts Grape Day, Aug. 8 at Parlier

Annual Grape Day slated for Aug. 8 at Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Parlier, Calif.

The Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center will host its annual grape day on Aug. 8 from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

There is no charge to attend.

Tours of research vineyards will begin at 7:55 a.m. with demonstrations on rootstock and trellising research; nematode problems in grapes; and a field demonstration of the “virtual vineyard.”

Classroom presentations will further discuss the “virtual vineyard, the impacts of plant growth regulators on Autumn King table grapes, grapevine mineral nutrition and mealybug control.

The Kearney research center is located at 9240 Riverbend, Ave., Parlier, Calif.
