Louie Colombini, general manager of Buttonwillow Ginning Co., Buttonwillow, Calif., is the California Cotton Ginners Association “Ginner of the Year.” He was honored during the organization's 30th annual meeting held recently in Visalia.
Colombini is a native of Fresno. He is a 1967 graduate of Fresno State with a BS degree in agronomy.
In 1970 he joined Producers Cotton Oil Co. as manager of the Corcoran and Angiola Gins. In 1978 he was assigned to the ranch department of Producers as Ranch Coordinator for South Lake Farms. In 1980 he joined Buttonwillow Ginning Co. as operations manager and several years later became general manager.
Colombini is a long time member of the board of directors of the ginners association and served as its chairman in 2000. He has served many years as a ginner delegate to the National Cotton Council and is a past board member of that organization. He currently serves as a member of the cotton industry's joint Industry's bale packaging committee and is a ginner alternate to the San Joaquin Valley Cotton Board.
He and his wife, Christie, live in Bakersfield, Calif.
