Mark Affleck resigns California Avocado Commission president/CEO post

The California Avocado Commission (CAC) board of directors on May 15 accepted Mark Affleck’s resignation as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the CAC. Affleck left to pursue other interests.

“For the past 20 years Mark has served tirelessly on behalf of the growers to generate immeasurable value for the industry,” said Rick Shade, CAC chair. He said the avocado industry has benefited greatly from Affleck’s strategic approach to marketing and communication.

In the letter of resignation, Affleck shared his appreciation for working with the California avocado industry to maximize crop value.

Tom Bellamore will serve as acting CEO. The CAC executive committee will immediately begin the search for a new president/CEO, Shade said.
