Two days' worth of California landscapes

California is one of those states too large to take in over a short period of time. These scenes were seen over the course of two days' worth of traveling to cover stories.

Rice harvest began for some growers in early September as wild fires continued to claim large tracts of landscape in the Sierra Nevada and near the North Coast.

Olive harvest was getting closer to reality in the Capay Valley. Meanwhile in the Central Sierra lakes commonly used for recreation and irrigation are being used for neither as regulators drained them down to help fish survive drought conditions scientists say have not been seen in at least 500 years.
