Westbridge’s Suppress herbicide gains DPR approval

Westbridge Agricultural Products (WAP) says the California Department of Pesticide Regulation has approved its new Suppress Herbicide EC for use in Golden State organic and conventional agriculture.

According to Westbridge, Suppress Herbicide EC is an effective new tool for organic growers. It is registered as a broad spectrum contact herbicide for post-emergent, plus non-selective weed control for use in and around all food and non-food crops.

Westbridge’s proprietary formulation is an emulsifiable concentrate approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic food production.

In more than four years of university research and field trials, WPA says Suppress Herbicide EC provided good results in controlling various weeds.

The low-foaming, easy-to-use formulation provides rapid, effective weed control, even in cooler weather conditions, and it will not volatilize.

The company news release says the herbicide is an important tool to help organic growers meet production goals, and is a good option for conventional growers as a rotational herbicide where weeds have become resistant to other chemical herbicides.

WAP is a manufacturer and distributor of liquid organic fertilizers, biopesticides, and specialty inputs.
