Research Update

New, Improved DuPont™ Kocide® fungicide formulation

Registration is progressing for a new formulation and label for Kocide®, Kocide® 3000*. The new product works by improving the bio-availability of copper for more effective control from each pound of copper applied. Trial results also show improvements in the quality of marketable produce. The new label will be a 30 percent copper formulation versus a 35 percent formulation in the current Kocide® 2000. The new formulation also will call for a lower use rate.

DuPont™ Avaunt® insecticide

Beet armyworms can be cyclical in many vegetable crops, but for spinach and celery crops, the lepidopterous pest seems to be a rather regular annual pest.

DuPont development representatives are performing field efficacy trials to add spinach and celery* to the Avaunt® label. Leafy brassica, leafy petioles and leafy vegetable* crop sub-group registrations are also pending as part of the spinach and celery submission. The current Avaunt® label now includes a host of vegetable crops, including lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, peppers and tomatoes.

* Pending state and EPA registration. Not available in all states. See your local DuPont representative for details and availability in your state.
Always read and follow all label directions and precautions for use.
