Six Arizona CEUs offered free online

Six hours of continuing education hours are available online at Western Farm Press' Web site for licensed Arizona pest control advisors, private applicators and commercial and government applicators.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture has accredited the following courses for two hours each. Each one is available at

  • Lepidopterous Pest Management/Pesticide Safety Review sponsored by DuPont Crop Protection.

  • Managing Spray Drift to Minimize Problems sponsored by Valent USA Corp.

  • Insecticide Resistance Management In Agronomic and Row Crops, also sponsored by Valent USA Corp.

These courses are free. They also are accredited by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation for all DPR licensees.

ADA licensees can sign on the Western Farm Press Web site and take one or all the courses for credit hours.

The courses follow a similar format; blocks of informational text followed by a series of questions. Once an ADA licensee completes a course, he or she can e-mail or mail their license number and additional information to Western Farm Press, which notifies ADA of the course completion.

Western Farm Press has been offering free online CEUs for about 18 months, and more than 1,800 courses have been completed to date.

Donna Fairchild, Industrial Hygienist with the Arizona Department of Agriculture Environmental Services Division, monitors CEU courses for ADA and took the spray drift management course online in that role as well as to earn CEUs for her Arizona PCA and Commercial Applicator licenses.

“We monitor courses periodically to ensure that the material presented was a fair representation of that which was approved by the department. I feel this (spray drift management course) was an excellent course and noted so on my report,” she said.

“I have many PCAs and Applicators who call and ask if there are any CEU courses available. I will highly recommend this course to those who call,” she added.
