UA's Hal Moser joins CPCSD

Moser replaces longtime CPCSD breeder John Dobbs who retired recently.

Moser has worked since 1994 as assistant research scientist at the University of Arizona’s Maricopa Ag Center. During his tenure, he worked in cotton breeding genetics and directed the Pima cotton variety development program from 1994 until 1998. During the past two years he has worked with upland cotton germplasm enhancement and evaluation of transgenic technology and varieties.

Moser will work on the development of new varieties for the San Joaquin Valley and other regions, according to CPCSD president Bill Van Skike, who said Moser’s “extensive breeding experience and cotton industry knowledge will undoubtedly help CPCSD and California cotton growers achieve even greater success.”
