Van Skike heads seed association

Bill Van Skike, president/CEO of California Planting Cotton Seed Distributors (CPCSD), Shafter, Calif., is the new president of the California Seed Association (CSA). He was elevated to the post at CSA's recent annual convention.

Van Skike joined the CSA in 1995. He began his career with CPCSD in 1993 and was appointed president/CEO in February 1998. Prior to joining CPCSD, he was involved in seed sales, crop financing, lint merchandising and ginning of Upland and Pima cottons.

Van Skike earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from California State University, Fresno in 1982. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration in 1986. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Bakersfield, Calif.

Van Skike serves on a number of boards in the cotton industry including the National Cotton Council; California Department of Food and Agriculture, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
