The 11th annual Maricopa County, Ariz., Summer Short Course scheduled for Aug. 25 will spotlight control of two of the toughest weeds to control.
The short course will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension office in Phoenix.
Discussing the biology, ecology and control of purple nutsedge and annual blue grass will be Bill McCloskey, UA Extension weed specialist, Pat Clay and Kai Umeda, area Extension agents, Maricopa County Cooperative Extension and David Kopec, UA turfgrass Extension specialist.
Registration fee of $35 includes available handouts, lunch, and refreshments. Enrollment deadline is Aug. 20. Late registration fee will be $50 after that. Enrollment is limited to 75 persons.
